IT for manufacturers

When IT stops, the line stops.

AnchorSix keeps manufacturers in Utah, Arizona and Idaho producing: ERP, the shop floor network, engineering workstations and the security your customers now demand. Second shift and weekends included: call any time, 24/7/365, and a real person picks up.

What we fix

The IT problems manufacturers call us about

Ransomware could shut down production for days.

Manufacturers are a top target because downtime is so expensive. We add endpoint detection and response, MFA, email protection and immutable, tested backups, and write a recovery plan that brings ERP and the floor back in a set order.

Office IT and the shop floor share one flat network.

Machines, controllers and older PCs that can’t be patched shouldn’t sit next to email and laptops. We segment the network, so a problem in the office can’t reach the floor, and floor equipment keeps running while we patch everything else.

A customer sent a security questionnaire, or a CMMC requirement.

Primes, OEMs and larger customers increasingly make security a condition of the contract. We help you answer accurately, close the gaps, and keep the evidence ready for the next one.

ERP slows down, and nobody owns the problem.

We monitor the servers, network and workstations ERP depends on, and work directly with your ERP vendor or reseller when something breaks. One accountable team, instead of everyone pointing at someone else.

Customer & contract requirements

What your customers require, and what we do about it

Most manufacturers don’t answer to one regulator. The rules come through contracts: your customers, your insurer and, for defense work, the Department of Defense.
Customer and supply-chain security requirements
Larger customers increasingly require suppliers to complete security questionnaires and show controls like MFA, endpoint protection, backups and incident response, and to report incidents that could affect them.
DFARS 252.204-7012 and NIST SP 800-171
Defense contractors that handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) must protect it using the NIST SP 800-171 security requirements and report cyber incidents to the DoD within 72 hours.
CMMC (32 CFR Part 170)
The DoD’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification is being phased into contracts. Level 1 covers basic safeguarding of Federal Contract Information with an annual self-assessment; Level 2 covers CUI using the 110 NIST SP 800-171 requirements, assessed by the contractor or a certified third party depending on the contract.
Cyber-insurance questionnaires
Insurers increasingly require MFA, endpoint detection and response, tested backups and segmented networks before they’ll write or renew a policy.

This is a plain-English summary, not legal advice. Which CMMC level applies depends on your contracts; your contracting officer, prime or attorney can confirm what’s required.

What AnchorSix handles

  • Network segmentation between office and shop floor
  • MFA on email, remote access and ERP
  • 24/7 monitoring and endpoint detection
  • Immutable, tested backups and a written recovery plan
  • Customer security questionnaires, answered with evidence
  • Incident response plan, and our team on call if it’s needed

Your software

We work with the software you already use

ERP, MRP and engineering software keep the plant running. We keep the servers, workstations and licensing behind them healthy, and call the vendor for you when something breaks.

Practical AI & governance

AI for quoting, documentation and maintenance, with your IP protected

AI can draft quotes from past jobs, turn tribal knowledge into work instructions and search maintenance manuals in seconds. Drawings, customer specs and controlled data can’t end up in a public tool. We help you get the gains and keep the data where your contracts say it belongs.
If you handle CUI or export-controlled technical data, where that data is stored and processed matters, including for AI. We’ll help you map it before any AI rollout.
  • Choose AI tools that don’t train on or retain your data
  • AI governance: a written AI policy, approved tools and regular review
  • Keep CUI and export-controlled data out of AI tools that aren’t approved for it
  • Fix file permissions before turning on Microsoft 365 Copilot
  • Monitor for and block unapproved AI apps reaching drawings and customer files

FAQ

Common questions

Do we need CMMC?
If you hold or are pursuing Department of Defense contracts or subcontracts, likely yes, and the level depends on whether you handle Federal Contract Information only or CUI too. Your prime or contracting officer can confirm what your contract requires.
Can you work around our production schedule?
Yes. We plan changes around your shifts and maintenance windows, and nothing on the floor gets touched without your sign-off.
Do you support machines and controllers on the floor?
We secure and support the network, PCs and remote access around your equipment, and work with your machine vendors and integrators on the equipment itself.
How fast do you answer?
Our support line is staffed 24/7/365, and the average call reaches a real person in 22 seconds.
