What we fix
The IT problems law firms call us about
An attorney can’t get to a file from court, home or the road.
We set up secure remote access to your document management and practice management systems, with MFA that protects client files without getting in an attorney’s way.
A spoofed email asks to change wiring instructions.
Business email compromise targets settlements and trust-account transfers. We add impersonation protection, lock down mailboxes and train staff on a simple call-back rule, so a fake email is much less likely to move real money.
A client’s security questionnaire just landed on your desk.
Corporate clients, outside counsel guidelines and insurers all ask how you protect their data. We help you answer accurately, close any gaps it reveals, and keep the evidence ready for next time.
Systems go down on a filing deadline.
We monitor your systems around the clock, keep tested backups and plan for fast recovery, so an outage doesn’t become a missed deadline.
Ethics & security
Your duty to protect client information
The ethics rules don’t ask lawyers to become IT experts, but they do expect reasonable efforts to protect client information and enough understanding of technology to manage the risks.
- Technology competence (ABA Model Rule 1.1, Comment 8)
- Lawyers should keep up with the benefits and risks of the technology they use in practice.
- Confidentiality (ABA Model Rule 1.6(c))
- Make reasonable efforts to prevent unauthorized access to, or disclosure of, information relating to a client’s representation.
- ABA Formal Opinions 477R and 483
- Guidance on securing electronic communication of client information (477R), and on a lawyer’s obligations to monitor for and respond to a data breach (483).
- Client and insurer requirements
- Outside counsel guidelines, client security questionnaires and cyber-insurance applications increasingly require MFA, encryption, endpoint protection and tested backups.
Utah, Arizona and Idaho each adopt their own versions of the Model Rules. This is a plain-English summary, not legal advice; check your state bar’s guidance.

Practical AI & governance
Use AI in your practice, ethically
AI can summarize depositions, draft first versions and search your own work product in seconds. Your ethical duties come along with it. We set it up so attorneys get the speed without risking client confidences.
ABA Formal Opinion 512 (2024) addresses lawyers’ use of generative AI: competence, confidentiality and informed consent, supervision, and reasonable fees. Check your state bar’s guidance as well.
- Choose AI tools that don’t train on or retain client data
- AI governance: a firm AI policy aligned with ABA Formal Opinion 512, approved tools and regular review
- Clean up document permissions before enabling Microsoft 365 Copilot
- Monitor for and block unapproved AI apps reaching client files
- Training for attorneys and staff, including AI-written phishing

FAQ
Common questions
Can you support our practice management and document management systems?
Yes. We keep them running, manage access and updates, and work directly with the vendor when something breaks, so your staff doesn’t sit on hold.
Who at AnchorSix can see our client files?
Only the engineers assigned to your firm, and only as needed to support you. We document who has administrative access and will sign your confidentiality agreement.
We’re a small firm. Is this overkill?
Small firms are targeted precisely because attackers expect weaker defenses. The basics (MFA, email protection, encryption and tested backups) cost far less than one wire-fraud loss or breach response.
What happens if we’re breached?
Call us. We contain the incident, preserve evidence, restore systems and work alongside your insurer’s breach counsel. Your incident response plan, written ahead of time, says who does what.
How fast do you answer?
Our support line is staffed 24/7/365, and the average call reaches a real person in 22 seconds.
